I got this gun from friend of mine when working in his gun store. He gave it to me for helping him through hard times.
Money he couldn´t give me so he gave me choice to pick up any handgun I want.
At that time I was aware that these are rare here in Finland si decided to pick this one.

Now I would like to know value of this gun.

To be precise it´s made in late 70s or early 80s so it is not those early models made before war.

Thanks in advance,
MN

Are you sure about the date of mfgr? Blue Book lists commercial Ace's made 1931-1941 & 1947.

Service model Ace's were made 1935-1945.

Value is $2,750 on commercial in 100% & $3,000 on Service in 100%.

Commercial has a 4-3/4" barrel, Service has a 5" barrel.

I'll keep looking.

Hello Bob

OMG, those prices are sky high!!! I wish it was that older model. This just can´t be that old. Finish is about 95- 98%. It has 5 inch barrel.
Could you check it by serial#. It is SM16188.

Grip panels in those pics are from old war horse. Just liked them more than those new w/ Colt medallion

They did reintroduce a 70's series service model ace in the late seventies.  Asking prices seem to go about a $1000, give or take a few bucks.  Do a google search and you'll find about the same.  Not sure what the value in Finland might be.

Ratters

Thanks for the info. I kept that gun for sale few months ago and asked that $1000€ but nobody were so hot for it. Got couple of calls from collectors who told 1000€ is too much so I told them this pistol doesn´t ask for food in my safe and decided to keep it.

Thanks,
MN

That is a very sweet pistol and you are probably best off keeping it anyhow.  Now I just need to find that envy icon.

That SN dates it in 78, the year that the SM Ace was re-introduced.
