Situation: I have ONE compact 9mm (Taurus)

I am seriously committed to .40SW and .45acp (multiple guns)

               I also shoot 357sig , .38/.357 , and I have 3 Commie pistols in 9x18

I know the Mantra ( 9mm is cheap - everybody needs one )

But all my centerfire handguns are primarily for SD/CCW , and one less caliber
would be easier on my ammo inventory

Plus , most everything chambered in 9mm is also available in .40sw.

Opinions?

I would keep at least on handgun in 9mm.

If I were you, I would sell the Taurus and buy a glock.

Sell the 9mm, buy ammo for the others.-Todd

I'm always trying (unsuccesfully) to simplify my battery and ammo inventory, and I try to stick to the NATO calibers (also unsuccessfully).

If I were starting all over again knowing what I know now, I'd have nothing but a few .22's (mostly suppressed, and mostly bolt-action), a couple 9mm's, a bolt-action .308 and of course a token AR or two.

No.  You've already got a huge assortment of pistol calibers.  What is it really going to matter to have one more?

It just gives you more options anyway for SHTF scenarios, which is the only reason I can see you worried about having multiple calibers.  You don't HAVE to stockpile for every caliber you own.

Sell the Taurus, get a CZ 75B or P-01.

if you dont need the 9, trade/sell it.

to me the 357sig is sort of extra too.  i would opt fo the 40 over the 357 sig.

Some good points made - thanks.

I do plan on mainly shooting .45 and .40

My two .38/.357 snubbies are staying , as are my 2 MAKs and P-64,
because they fill a niche and are fun to shoot.
Also have two.45s and planning on another
The .357 sig is just my alternate barrel for my P226 in .40

So I probably will upgrade from the taurus 9 to  some kind of compact .40,
maybe a sig P239 or an XD.

NO Glocks though

If you don't need it, sell it. Chances are it won't appreciate value collecting dust
