Never owned a ".38". I have always had .357Mag and shot whatever I wanted in the .38 calibers...now I want to make sure its actually safe to shoot +P ammo in my little .38 special.

So...is +P fine in something chamber for ".38 special"?
Am I going to blow the barrel up?
Educate a first time .38 revolver owner.

Thanks.

I'd suggest giving Taurus a call or e-mail, that is what I did. Based on the serial number, they confirmed my Taurus 85 was made during the first year of production these revolvers were rated for +P. Similary, I was used to using .357, however that was a little too stout for my wife. She is a better shot than I am, so the +P should get the job done for her if necessary.
