What I want is dao,good quality,good custumer service if problems arise,I have both HK and Glock before but think I may just go with one or the other. HK-P2000 and if ever avalible the P3000 or the G17 and the G23

Depends on what you are looking for.
Glocks are great and HK s are great. With a Glock you get 33 round mags, easy to fin holsters, night sights, and less expensive mags. HK will give you DAO, LEM or DA/SA triggers and match triggers, O-Rings, can be carried "cocked and locked" HK mags will cost more than Glocks. As for which is a better company over all......I guess I don't know what you are getting at. Are you talking customer service? warrenty? Many people here dis like HK because they will not sell (can not sell) their rifles in the U.S. so, many here fell HK is a anti civilian company. Other than that HK is one of the most inovative gun makers in the past 50 years. From handguns to grenade launchers. Glock is a great company and all they make is Glock handguns....no other firearms. I own both Glocks and HKs. In 9mm and in .40, and you need to choose which gun fits you best. The Glock is a work horse and will take a lot of use, the HK s are very well built and are very accurate. I would say for Glock look at a G19 or 23 and for HK look at a P2000 or USP Compact. Chris |

1. What's the budget 2. Which can you shoot better (Rent if you can at the range) 3. Which one do you feel more comfortable with in the hand 4. What will this handgun be used for.... Make your decision accordingly and don't listen to the posts that just state one or the other without logic... |

of the non-1911 weapons out there for function, simplicity, and down right git-er-dun ability
Glock, Sig, HK are your top three. I prefer the ugly old Glock myself over anything else. Reliability before anything else. OHHHH YEEEAAAAAHHHHH And I personally can't think of a 1911 that comes close to those three, not even my Springfield Armory 1911A1 Loaded, even with all the Wilson Combat goodies it has inside. |

If you like a 1911 style grip angle, then HK. If you can stand the Glock grip, then Glock. Pretty simple, really.

+1 on all but the Glock, Ford thing. I like imports but for towing I'll take a chevy. The G21 is 3rd in my book after the 1911 and USP. |

Well I had a USP45 and a G21, perfered the USP but that was 45, havent tried 9mm in either

FWIW I would choose glock over any other brand or type of pistol.
But it really boils down to feel and features which should determine what your choice is. HK's arent bad, but I would never give up my glock for one. Now the SIG 229R DAK gives the glock a run for the money. That is real Glock competition. |

Personally I'd get the Glocks, don't get me wrong the hks are really nice but you'll get a lot more for your money with the Glocks, the money you'll save can be used to accessorize!

HK. before i bought my HK USP9, i went to the range and tested all the guns that i potentially wanted. HK USP, Glock 19, Sig 229, Beretta 92. First i did the visual inspection. concentrated on the finish and overall smoothness of the guns. HK won hands down. when i shot them, i absolutely loved how the HK felt both in my hand, and shooting. obviously i bought the HK. Money was definitely a factor however, and i was lucky enough to find a USP for $500. If i had to pay retail for one, i definitely woulda bought the sig.

I have had both and prefer Glock. However if the HK has more chamber support on the .40 then that is what I would get. I shoot better with my G19 than I did with my USP9MM though. To each his own.They are both fantastic pistols.

If you have smaller hand, USP Compact will fit you better. I know...I just got a Grock 19
to compare side by side with USP9c.Edited to add: and if you ever do one-handed shooting like with a flashlight or knife, regular SA beats Safe Action hands down. |

CONAN56 is here asking a legitimate question, there is no need to crap in his thread. Some of us "retards" actually do have legitimate reasons why we choose HK over Glock. For me the biggest reason is that I reload in .45 and the chamber support issue is a big deal to me. I also prefer having a SA/DA pistol with the additional controls that the HK pistols have. If you don't agree, that is your right, but CONAN56 deserves to hear all of the pertinent answers to his question.
