cheap .45 - AR15.COM

I'm looking for a cheap .45 of any style. Not particularly wanting bryco cheap or hi-point cheap though. I want something that's a little better than a 100 dollar .45. I want it mostly for plinking. 250- 350 range.

EAA polymer frames. Might find a steel frame try CDNN. I have a polymer 10mm I like it.

Ruger, the most under rated pistol on the market. If you don't mind double action and somewhat ugly they are great.

Those Ruger's work, ugly, but they work.

I bought a Rock Island just for the hell of it bout a year and a 1/2 ago. Turned out to be a damn reliable 1911 style gun. Paid $325 for and it works just as well if not better than my Kimber and my Colt 70 series.
Sarco has them for $275. If you can find a cheap transfer dealer you're set.

Also picture is a SA 1911A1 GI. Paid a little more for that one. Bought it as gift for my partner.

Ruger is a very good option. My P97 is one the most, if not the most, dependable pistol I own. Same with my Springfield GI.

I agree, my Ruger .45 is a great gun. And I do not, personally, think it is ugly at all. Sure, its not shiny but its is a nice looking pistol.

Witness, Ruger, S.A. GI are all good choices in my opinion. I have owned all three and the witness in both poly and steel framed and even though I would recomend both I would go with the steel framed witness over the poly because of the trigger and grip. My P345 is what I carry now even though I own some pistols that are a lot more expensive it is what I like. I may carry my XD .45ACP in the future but only if I like it better and it conceals as nice as my P345.

No matter what you do don't buy a Llama. It was the biggest POS I have ever owned. I've heard that Bryco, Jennings, Davis and Hi-point are all equally worthless. Ruger or Rock Island are probabily the cheapest reliable .45's out there. If you look hard enough maybe you could find a used Glock 21 or 30, I carry the 30 and it is one of my favorite pistols out there.

Thanks bro, that's just what I did. I got a RIA yesterday for 299 and I love it. I think the rugers are kind of ugly too. I like the fact that it's the 1911 design and doesn't look like something out of a B science fiction.

I really think that the best "buy" is the Springfield WWII 1911.

I tried the RIA and had problems with it. Sold it and bought a Springfield that has been pretty good to me.

I like Rugers in most cases, but never been to turned-on by their centerfire auto pistols.
