I just received my CHL and plan to carry my Taurus. My berreta drops the hammer when i put the safety on, but the Taurus hammer stays cocked. I was told to minimize lowering the hammer manualy as there is a chance of it slipping. Is it safer to leave the hammer cocked or just go ahead and drop it manualy?

Carry it condtion 1. One big advantage of the Taurus over the Beretta 92 is that you can carry it cocked and locked.

If you're gonna lower the hammer, why not use the decock????????

Personally, I never use cocked-and-locked on my 1911s; I use hammer down on a live rd.
