I can see that causing severe accuracy issues with the first shot, especially with a good hard sweep of the safety if all you're after is speed.

Depending on the gun, it's remotely possible that the pistol could fire before the safety has completely seated downward, and may do who-knows-what when the slide impacts the partially lowered safety.

The safety should be "off" LONG before the gun comes on target.

I know, I know!!! Why don't you pull the trigger, THEN push down on the safety! Even better!
