OK, I just put together a word document with the important info on my various guns, and I knew that I had a lot of them, but 28 (11 handguns, 17 long)  is a heck of a lot especially when you consider that I had 4 back in may (1 handgun, 3 long).

Three things contributed to this:
1. My father passed leaving me all of his guns
2. My inlaws decided that we were to become their new storehouse for their guns.  Some are meant for my wife and some for a grandson, so I guess you can't call those mine.
3. I was bit by the autoloader bug.

So how many guns do you currently own/have under your roof?

Lately, it seems like I've been buying two guns in a week.

First time: BuckMark and 10/22
Second time: Mossberg 500 and Mosin Nagant M38
Third time (soon): German Mauser and Yugo M48.

Gah! This is on top of my other 5-6 long rifles.

No evil black rifles.  Mostly rifles, shotguns and pistols.  The most evil thing he had was a 45-70 rifle.

Let's see, a quick inventory:
handguns:
357 colt python w/ trigger job (the sweetest shooter I have)
Charles Daly 1911
S&W 1917
S&W 38 spec airweight
H&K USP 40
and a few 22 pistols
ruger 357 blackhawk

then there are several shotguns and rifles.  I don't think any would be terribly drool-inspiring to this board though there are several antiques from the inlaws that I quite like.  There's also some junk that my dad got stuck w/ and I now am as well as a couple that need repair.

He also had a S&W model 25 and a S&W 40 sigma.  Those I turned into Sigs.  They didn't have stories like many of the others do.  Hell, that python, my dad carried when the shit was hitting the fan.  He was a cop.  It wasn't his duty weapon.  It was his second during crunch times.  No amount of money could part that from me.

It's not all that interesting, really.  A lot of duplication/redundancy (I'm a big believer in that).  There are a few oddballs, semi-exotics, and heirlooms in the mix, but mostly just good, sound firearms... like any good assortment of tools.

I picked up four new guns, an AR15 upper, and a 1911 .22 conversion kit this year- but considering I was only home for 28 days, I'd say that's a pretty good rate!

( been thinking of picking up a Marine Magnum )

Well, as I have the go ahead from the wife, I will no longer be parting with any firearm that I actually like (and I have been granted absloute power over what "I like.")  That being said, I don't think that I will be getting rid of any for a long time.  I've regretted every single one I ditched.

Lets, see
I have now
HK 45F
Glock 27
AR-15 in process of being built (so far, Mega upper/lower, Magpul stock, Magpul MIAD, 26 USGI mags)
Mossburg shotty (want to trade for a 870 police +cash)

On waiting period
Beretta 92fs that was "used" but really NIB........a real tragedy....I don't think it was ever shot.  LOL....won't ever be the same after I pimp it out to the range gods.

When my dad goes, I'll be the only one that will get his guns....I'll make damn sure of it.
Rem 700 BDL in 7mm and .30-06 (the .30-06 is the one I care about the most out of any listed here).
Weatherby in .300 weatherby mag (ouch!)
Rem 870 wingmaster
browning pump shooty
I think he has a .357mag S&W (I'd love to see it)
Built up ruger 10/22 that I built up and then traded him for something (stupid-stupid-stupid)
Rem 700 adl in .308 (can't wait to get ahold of that action for my tactical bolt gun.......it has no sentimental value as he bought it, then we never used it)
Bolt action .22 that I don't know maker of

Anyhow, I wish that he would part with some of them, and he probably would if I asked, but I don't think that he would ship them across state lines LOL, nor would I let him for that matter.

OH, I came home from the holidays with one more.  It's a .22 Ruger that my father in law fixed up.  That makes something like a dozen 22's.  Only a couple mean something to me.  I'd love to trim some of the fat.  I'm having space issues.  Besides then I can turn them into guns I want.

Don't worry, there are plenty that I would never sell for any price.
