I have a Charles Daley 1911 and it is impossible to keep the rear site on the slide.  I have tried just about everything I can think of to keep this thing on and nothing works.  Have anyone experienced this?  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Can anyone suggest a new site put try and put on it?

Have you tried dimpling the bottom of the sight (or dovetail) with a center punch to raise a burr?

Simple cheap solution... Buy jb weld remove the rear sight wipe w/ alcohol or thiner clean it out bring it to the range center it then glue it in once it is in it is pretty hard to take out. Make sure it is centered.:)

Sounds like an undersized base OR an oversized dovetail or both...that sucks.
If you can measure the height (or take it with you) and try to find a new one, perhaps it will be tighter.
I have drilled & tapped the sight for a set screw towards the front of the blade too.
There are fairly inexpensive adjustable sights available too, if durability is not a problem.
