Good morning all,

I recently picked up a handgun a couple of days ago.

It was listed as a Bernardelli M1948 in 32acp.

I can't find out anything on this gun on the www.

Here is what is on it:

Left side of slide:  BERNARDELLI - GARDONE V.T. ITALIA - CAL. 7.65 BREV.

Right side of slide:  (crown stamp with PSF on it)

right side of frame behind trigger:  (2 stamps)  1948

Backstrap: xxx (3 digit serial number)

Wood grips with same serial number on the inside

Same seial number on inside of trigger bar.

Any ideas????

Thanks
Dennis

i found an italian page but i don't know if its for your pistol or another model: www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Trails/4018/bernardz.htm

go to dogpile and type in bernardelli and you will find a few pages.

Wow that was fast!!

It looks exactly like the 38-32.

I could tell by looking at the front sight.  On mine and this one, there is practically no front sight, just a groove on the slide.

What is the model number for this one then?

Aaron, that is the model in the page you gave, no english translation tho.

I remember that pistol..it was very rare. standard issued pistol by the military was the beretta but some officers used to by a Bernardelli by their own.

It hasn't a model number. the correct name is "Bernardelli cal. 7.65" (or cal. 9short)

that page describe the parts of the pistol, how to disassemble it and there is a list of replacement parts. if you need I can try to transate the page for you.
