Do you remember the first gun you ever bought? Not the one given to you by your Dad/Uncle/Grandpa, but the first one YOU ACTUALY BOUGHT WITH YOUR MONEY. What was it? Do you still have it, or is it at least still in your family? If so, do you still shoot it . And if not, do you regret getting rid of it?    My first was a Ruger P95DC.    I got it about 10yrs. ago. I gave it to my Dad,  he still has it.  Still shoots fine.  Its odd, I can remember every gun purchase I ever made. I can even remember details of most of them like what I was wearing, who was with me, etc. But I cant remember my wifes birthday or our anniversary.

Savage 110FP(older version of the 10fp) with harris bipod, and leupold scope.  Tons of work had been done to it.  $250 bucks at a pawn shop.  I was about 2 weeks past 18 and knew a hell of a lot more about firearms than I do now and the Pawn shop owner thought it was the regular savage you could get a walmart with a big barrel. Go figure.  My dog could have raped him and it would have hurt him less once I told him what it was and how much it was worth.  I did this AFTER I'd paid for it. I traded it for a Ruger M77 in .270 AND a Kawasaki Bayou 4 wheeler.

I was 18, 1981, I ordered a Colt sporter SP-1.  The gun shop owner looked at me like I had two heads.  I didn't even know anybody who owned a AR-15.  I had seen one in a gun catalog and had to have it.  I traded it for a Colt 45 1911.......I still miss that rifle.

First handgun was an old Sturm-Ruger 41mag 4+" barrel single action revolver.

First firearm was a Sheridan Sliver Streak .177 pellet rifle.

Still have both and they they both are still excellent shooters (although the pellet rifle has been completely reworked by Sheridan a couple times as the compression tends to fade after a few years of heavy use, but the barrel had never been replaced)

Mike

ps - and NO the old 41 ain't sporting no transfer bar upgrade........

IIRC, it was a Mini-14. Still have it......
...and still like it!!!!
(Now that I'm done cussing at it, beating it against trees, threatening it with use as a trotline weight, and got some good mags for it )

First ever gun I bought w/ my own $$ was a Crossman 1600 Powermatic BB gun. I was probably 15 or so. I still have it, I'm sure it still works, and I'm saving it for when my kids are old enough to get into shooting.

First "real" gun bought 50/50 between my fiancee and myself: Springfield Armory XD-9 subbie. Definitely still have it and shoot it.

First "real" gun bought totally w/ my own money was another XD-9 subbie, as a present for my fiancee. I had it Gun-Koted blue (w/ silver parts) by Rich at Canyon Creek. I still have it, and my fiancee shoots it.

Mine was the world-renowned Accu-Tek .380.   It was basically like a Walther PPK but manufactured by retards.

Attempts to improve it were futile, and it eventually found its way back to another gun dealer.

First gun I ever bought was a Beretta 92FS from my older brother.  I loved that gun and always wanted one.

He was killed in a car accident a few years ago so now that gun means more than any one piece I have in the safe.

I can't help but hold it every time I open the safe....

My first was S&W 3913 and it was a LEMON!!!!  First trip to the range I couldn't hit paper at all so I gave it the old timer in the stall next me and he couldn't hit paper either.  Sent it back to S&W for repair and they replaced the barrel, guide rodand spring.  I could now hit the paper but after 30 or so rounds the ambi safety/decocker lever popped off and went flying across the range.  Traded that 3913 in for a G19 and ten years later I still have the G19.

My brother bought a Ruger P89 a few months before I got my permit, due to it's being on sale for a very nice price.  The first handgun I walked out with myself was a Bersa .380, while years before the first rifle I bought was a Ruger 10/22.  I love them all.

Got a Savage Falling Block single shot 22LR at age 13 (Dad purchased), got my very own 10/22 at 18, and then when I hit 21 a Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm.

The 2005 SEBR will be my first assault rifle purchase and first AR15.  The reason I joined the team!

I think it was a Ruger P85DC? I remember trading it to my brother a bit later. I did keep a Daewoo DH40 for a long time until it too was traded out for a newer pistol. My first rifle was Colt Match Target Competition. That has also been traded for a newer, more applicable rifle.
