I have a LBC 1911 Concept 3, THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE.

I dislike any and all plastic guns. I don't plan on needing a gun I can dig a foxhole with, submerge in seawater, or use as a hammer anytime in the near future..

I LOVE .45's. I have only shot one .40, and was impressed. I am attempting to avoid getting into another cabiber...

What is out there? the P14/45 ltd is catching my eye...

Does it have a plastic trigger?

You've got a 1911 so that base is covered. You might want to consider the SiG 220. It's a single stack, 45acp. There is also a SiG 245 which is a compact version. You also might want to check out the really great 45acp revolvers like the S&W 625.

I have always liked the grip angle (?) or a 1911. When I close my eyes and raise it, then open my eyes, the sights are aligned perfectly. Are Sigs similar?

I have big hands. What is the concensus of Para Ordnance p14/45s?

i will be on the lookout for a sig to try.

BTW, I tried one of those mini-me 1911s w/ the really short barrel. Wow! do they pop up in the air! Not nearly as controllable as a 5" barrel!!!

The gun will be used for range use, some pins, steel plates now and then,... homeland defense,...

My Dillon 550 is already set up for 45, that is why I want to stay with 45.

I never thought of looking at a 45 acp revolver!! You have given me something to think about!!!

Give the 45acp revolver a test drive. I think you'll be shocked by what happens. I love the 45acp caliber, it's far too nice to waste on a semi-automatic. Give it a try in what it was originally shot in, a nice 6" revolver.

CZ 97.  10 rounds plus one in the pipe, accurate and reliable as hell, very controllable due to the full steel frame, and goes for $500 or so from what I have seen.

It's too bad you're against the Glocks as they make EXCELLENT carry guns.  The Glock 36 is my favorite, and it's a .45.  All you do is point and pull the trigger.  No cocking, decocking, or safeties to worry about.  

I carry a Glock 22 on-duty, and a Glock 23,27,36 off-duty.  I've owned almost every other brand of handgun, including Sigs, Kahr's, S&W's, Ruger's, etc., and have not found an equal.  Glock's are simple to shoot, simple to clean and simple to breakdown.  Not to mention they weigh MUCH less and have a MUCH higher capacity than most other manufacturers.
