My buddy just picked a used Python in 90% condition and he wants to get it refeinished to the original "royal blue" finish, does anyone know a gunsmith or finisher that does royal bluing?

Colt is still doing refinishing in Blue, but due to EPA interference, is sending nickel jobs out.

Unless you go with a VERY high end restoration service like Doug Turnbull, NO ONE quite measures up to a Colt factory Royal Blue job.

Price and turnaround will be better than Cylinder & Slide.

Several members on the Colt Forum have recently had Colt do Python refinishes, and they say the job looks like the early 50's blue jobs Colt did on the early Pythons.
