the G35 is in .40sw
 the slim line, single stack, G36 is the subcompact .45acp, which does have a thinner frame than the other G .45acp models the other Glocks in .45acp are the G21 (fullsize) and G30 (compact) double stacked glocks check out glock's website or yahoo 'glock' and get stats on their models.... |

Look at .45GAP too... smaller form factor for little/no loss in ballistics.

Don't shy away from the Glock 30, either.
My father bought one, and I was amazed to find it not only VERY controllable, but it also fit my (small) hands very well. Oddly, the Glock 36 did NOT fit my hand as it was too long front-to-back. I am looking for a good price on a 30 now. ......well next month, anyway. I had a $400 gunsmithing bill from S&W for my Model 21 this month. |

g21 has been avalible for ever,the g 30 double stack compact 45 g36 single stack compact.then theirs the "gap"ill bet glock has a long slide 45 or 45 gap comming out next!

I'd be ALL OVER a longer slide .45 ACP. I see them making it in .45 GAP first though (which would be cool too). --Josh |

Thanks for the feedback guys. This has been my first post on ARF.com and now I think I'm hooked.
I think I have decided on the 30 due to higher magazine capacity. I will be using it mainly for concealed carry and sport shooting. |

I would look at the .45GAP, but I have about 1,500 rnd of .45ACP and I need something to burn it up with.

The only .45 glock that I have experience with the glock 30, and if you are into the whole glock thing, they arent that bad. It shoots okay, but it just sits in my safe now, since i got a USP Compact 45.  The glock 30 is compatible with glock 21 mags also

No flame...different strokes for different folks...but I have a USPf and had a USPc in .45acp...I dumped the Compact because I much prefer the Glocks. I only keep the full size gun because I use it for training officers who carry them. If not for that, I would have TWO G21's instead of one!  BTW...you want to buy a really nice, as new, Del Fatti IWB holster and mag pouch for your Compact? as here... www.delfatti.com/photos/photos/49.JPG |

The new G38 and 39 are compact and subcompact 45 Gap pistols. The G38 is the size of the G19 (compact 9mm) and the G39 is the size of the G26 (subcompact 9mm). These might be something to look at.

I dont buy calibers I cant buy in quantities that allow sufficient practice on my budget and cant scrounged almost anywhere if I have to. |

I agree that ammo availibility is a must, but any new cartridge just needs times. Look at the 40...there were not many loads for that when it first came out but look at it now. I could be wrong, but I see a future in the GAP, just because of the 9mm size pistol that can harbor it...just like the 40.

+1 Way too many proven ammo performers out there in .45ACP. to fiddle around with a novelty cartrige. My G30. 10rnds of .45ACP happiness with 13 of his brothers and sisters as backup.

First off...
 Second, I have 2 G21s and a G30 - no problems yet out of any of them, but none of them have had the thousands of rounds through them (yet ) that my 9mm Glocks have.Good luck!

I went from an HK Compact 45 to Glock 30. 6 weeks and 700 rounds later the G30 kiks azz.
CCW's very easy with C.T.A.C. IWB Glocks...the F-150's of pistols. Simple but effective no nonsense nasty
