A lady I know has an AMT Backup she want's to sell but I have no idea what it's worth.
Is it even safe to fire?

I don't know. She had feeding problems and I found the loaded round was pushed back into the case to the point that the slide wouldn't release. When I put a new round in, the pistol loaded it just fine. |

I had a 380 and it functioned just fine, but the caliber sucked..all it did was dent a piece of tin roofing so I sold it....I picked up a AMT 45 back-up and I carry it a lot now, it works just fine, no malfunctions and shoots the 185 gr. ST's pretty well for a short barreled handgun......

I had one and I believe you have to drive out pins just to break it down to clean it.

I had a DAO AMT .380 BU for years. For a pocket gun it was heavy. The trigger pull was long and heavy. I never had feeding problems but I did lose an extractor once. I experienced light primer strikes with cheap ammo. I sold it in favor of a Kel-Tec. For a DAO model in good working condition, I'd set the price at about $180.00.

The AMT Break-Up is marginally useful as a boat anchor. Just Say No.

Some fool might give you/her $150 for it at a gun show in a private sale. It's worth, maybe $100, IMO.
