There's a group buy going on on another board for CZ's and the prices are very very low, also the mag prices are very very low.  I think this is a rare opportunity and want to get on the bandwagon.  I have a RAMI and a 75B that i like but don't need, per say.  I have a HKP7 and really don't need any more 9mm's, so I put the CZ's I have on the EE.

The ones I am interested in are the CZ97, the IPSC model in 40 and hte CZ83.

I've always wanted a cz97.  that's the only reason why I'd get it.  I love the 45, and like shooting ALL platforms for it, not just 1911's.  My only concerns are the wider grip.  My palms are smallish, and the 9mm CZ's were just about the upper limit of my trigger finger reach.

The IPSC model 40 looks like a gun I can give to my grandkids one day.  hot DANG she's purty.  checkerring on front and rear, huge satefy lever, full length dust cover.  BUT they made the grip wider, so same worries as before.

the '83 would be a deep deep carry gun.  I am looking for a sig p232 for this role, but the CZ price is great with this group buy.  I know its a little bigger, but is it THAT much bigger?

I really like the CZ83, but for a deep-carry gun, I believe the width of the grip frame would be a hindrance to concealment. I think you would be better off sticking with the P232, seriously.

A CZ-83 is only a "deep carry" gun if you're Michael Moore.  A SIG 239 or S&W 3913/4013 are flatter and more concealable (as is your P7), and offer the punch of 9x19 or .40.  I've always slobbered over them as a curiosity, but they aren't really practical as CCW.

I've tried out the sig and HK as a deep deep gun.  they don't work under the shiort in a desantis chest band, nor on my ankle.  they are just too long and boxy.

The CZ97 is a big damn heavy guy by anyone's standards.  I have large hands and can barely reach the trigger on it.  I suggest getting a Witness .45 instead to plink around with.

The CZ83 is an ugly little dude.  There are better choices for a deep carry auto, namely Makarov and the Kahr K9.  Mags, holsters, sights for the latter will be easier to find.

Sorry I can't talk you out of the IPSC CZ.  That's a very nice piece I'd like to run across as well.

Plus the IPSC's width is 1.8 inches!!!  The  97 has the normal width grip 1.4, I wonder if its got a longer thumb-of-web to trigger length though...

I'm going to agree with ken_mays: get the IPSC and a K9 for CC.
