Any website that you can check you gun's serial #'s or does this need to be done through local L.E

If you mean to check for a stolen gun, LE is the only way.

To add, they want you to bring down the firearm just encase it is stolen.

Due to this, it's best to just make the sale/transfer from owner to owner at the police station.
