Does anyone edc or home defense a Glock 20 or 29?  Why or why not?

I had a 20 as my nightstand gun for quite a while.  Switched to 9mm - more controllable, less muzzleblast.  If I need more firepower than 17+1 9mm, I'll grab a shotgun or rifle.

I use to carry both but now as I've gotten older my carry gun has gotten smaller. For OWB I like Desantis 001 for IWB Kramer.

My 29 is an occasional carry gun in the winter. With a 4.6" KKM barrel, it's my 'always' carry gun in the Colorado mountains.

There's a GLOCK 29 and a 15-rd spare mag hidden in my kitchen, loaded with Winchester 175 grain Silvertips.

I just started carrying a Glock 21 daily again. It has a nice grip reduction but other than that it is a stock gen 4. It does have night sights. I bought it for a woods gun and was going to convert it to 10mm but it does just fine as it is. I actually edc it just fine. I had a Glock 30s and just was not a fan. I probably will pass on a 29 even if I find one cheap. A 20 is one I would buy for a decent price. Assuming I can find 10mm ammo again in the future.

I used to. Really liked the G20. Then I sold it for a G19 because I could actually afford to shoot that.
200gr Doubletap was my ammo of choice then.  I think it was loaded with XTP bullets.
I would buy another. But would probably go with a 29.

I have a G20 as a house gun setup with X300U and Corbon DPX

It’s an effective gun with plenty of power and I’ve got several cans full of 10mm ammo.

I carry and shoot 9mm more than any other caliber but my Glocks in 40, 45 and 10 won’t be going anywhere

On my last trip out west (UT, ID, WY, MT) I carried a Gen 4 G20 for two weeks...concealed...IWB. The weight is not a problem, the sheer size of the pistol makes concealing it a chore; but still doable. I am about 6'1" and 240 lbs and wear loose fitting clothing. The holster I used was crappy (Alien Gear) so it wasn't as comfortable as could be. Nevertheless, the holster and pistol stayed where I needed them whether driving, walking in town, or hiking trails. I would strongly consider something better like a Milt Sparks Summer Special or Galco Summer Comfort type holster for IWB.

G29 gen 4 with 200gr Gold Dots is my carry gun.

G20 gen 4 with X300U and Underwood 180gr XTP's is my nightstand gun.

The versatility of the cartridge is flat out tough to beat, and Glock's large frame platforms handle it wonderfully.

Is the 20 and 29 as reliable as the other Glocks? My only fear is the longer case size. What loads do you all use?

G29  -  EDC/CCW;

G20  -  'nightstand gun,' with light.

G40   -  bad-ass long-slide 'woods/trail/boonies' gun. Slips into a center-chest holster easily and well.

All are reliable, accurate, and 10mm-awesome.

Get all three.

You can thank me later.

My younger brother uses his G20.4 loaded with 180 gr Underwood gold dots for HD

I don’t see why 15 rounds of 10mm is a bad option

G29.3 IWB
G20SF OWB
G40 chest carry forest.
What ever I'm carrying goes on the nightstand, but there's a shotgun with a TLRII light that is the dedicated home defense weapon.

My 20 is carried in winter when I can wear a jacket. It is on my bedside table most nights.  It is currently loaded with 175 silvertips.

If I have to set off a handgun indoors, I would much rather it be a low pressure round like .45 ACP than a high pressure one like 10mm.

And I am a fan of the 10mm

I almost bought a G20 the other day but passed on it. Went to another LGS and found a G21 and G29SF. Picked up both and 500 round each of FMJ and 240 rounds for both of hollow points.

I’m going to try and carry both to see how they feel. I was looking for a 1911 but the G21 felt pretty good in the hands and I like that I can get 13+1.

I haven’t owned 10mm before but have shot it. I’ll pick up a holster for it today online.

With everything going on in the world, I figured why not try a harder hitting caliber. Yes, 9MM does just fine and I have an assortment of 9’s. Just wanted something different. I kind of regret not picking up that G20 but a little too late now.

I have a Glock 21 Gen 4 and a Conversion Kit

I prefer:
45ACP for In doors
10mm for out doors.

Runs fine honestly, that being said most of the 10mm range ammo I've found feels weak. Something loaded to 40S&W in this frame/slide size feels almost like shooting 9mm.

I don't, but I have.  Nothing much to say, although I prefered the G20 over the G29, even the G40.  The 10mm is fine for either, not necessarily any better than anything else, just another option.
