Easy question here that we’ve all been asked, but maybe a little different. What handgun would you have if you could only have one, and it couldn’t be a Glock? Fixed poll for all the whining... maybe we can get real numbers now. If your pick is 1911, just select a manufacturer that builds them.

I have had lots of handguns over the years, but I haven't had a Glock yet.
If restricted to one, it needs to be some thing easily concealed, so it will be a Ruger LCR. Now, if I can have two? I would build a Commander clone in .38 Super or 9x23mm Winchester, or both. With a .22 conversion for cheap practice. |

Your initial premise is false; I may have as many handguns as I desire, can afford, and can store.
As the failure of your initial premise is dispositive, any further discussion of the topic awaits its correction. |

If it couldn't be a Glock, it would be this...

Springfield.
Sorry, not sorry. Every one of mine (5) are 100% flawless. Have close to 25k collectively through them and I can not remember a single stoppage ever. They work. And they shoot well. |

Walther PPQ or Sig P320C. Voted Walther because I've never actually owned a Sig.

(For striker fired poly 9's...)
CZ P-10C - Points more naturally (for me) - phenomenal trigger out-of-the-box At this point, the only advantage I see with Glocks are multi-decade history of hard use and aftermarket support. Edit: 2nd choice would be PPQ 3rd choice would be VP9 |

Realistically I never carry it but the Hk45 is a hell of an "only" pistol.

I think the newer Canik TP9SF models need to be added to the list of serious poly 9 contenders. If I had zero knowledge of Canik and someone blindfolded me and handed me a TP9SF and told me to handle it for an hour, I'd come out of the experience thinking it was a $600-750 pistol. Now throw in the fact that it has a CHF barrel, Mec-Gar magazines, is accurate and reliable, has a crazy good trigger and only costs $329 and it is truly an OMG revelation. People need to stop immedialty thinking "value" and "budget" when it come to these pistols. Compare them on their physical attributes, ergos, accuracy and reliability. The price is just icing on the cake. |
