I need a home defense handgun for my wife. She rarely shoots, and  she always gets confused ( up or down to disengage ) with the safties on my USP 45, 92FS, and 1911 I know in a high stress situation she wont be able to quickly disengage the safety.  So I would prefer a gun with no external ( lever ) safety.    Which of these two guns would you reccommend and why?  Thanks.

Personally, Glock but I am partial to them. Put one in the chamber and for all pratical purposes you have a revolver quite simple really.

You could change the variant on your UPS 45.

That's an easy one.  Glock 23 without a doubt.  Simple, reliable, goes boom with every trigger pull EVERY TIME.
