A question please..... Is a Sig P239 a common handgun purchased? If not why? The short hand grip? Why does Fobus Holsters not make a holster for it and/or what would be a good holster for it? I own one and am just wondering....thanks.

The 239 is my favorite 9mm that isn't a CZ, and for discreet 9mm CCW is hard to beat. Utterly reliable, very accurate for a short barrel, and yet substantial enough to soak up the recoil (if any
 ) from the 9mm +P+ loads. I carried one when I was limited to 9mm by my employer, and carried it in either a KyTac Braveheart or FIST-Inc. Adjustable IWB. Both holsters were great buys for the money, and I would throw the Fobus in the crapper and get one of those, if I didn't have the money to buy a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II.Keep in mind that holsters that are well-made and well-designed may just not WORK for YOU. Different people have different builds, and carry weight differently. I have a box of holsters that are great holsters, but just didn't work for me. Most pistoleros do, as well. Don't worry if the P239 is or is not a popular piece. It's a GREAT one. If I was stuck carrying a 9mm for CCW, it would probably be that one. Not that I don't love CZs!

It's my favorite CAL .40 CCW. The reason for the short handgrip becomes very evident when you carry IWB - it's well worth it IMO. Especially when seated in a car. Put some hogue finger groove grips on it, and it's fine. It's quite thin, and although not light, quite easy to conceal. And dead reliable, as are all the Sigs I own. I just use a KNJ simple IWB Holster.

You know where I can get stainless grip screws for it? I sweat buckets in hot DFW summers and since I wear it IWB it gets sweated on a lot, and have to keep lubing my grip screws to keep the surface rust off the slot on the steel grip screws. The rest of the weapon is fine since it's blackened stainless and aluminum, but I really would like some stainless grip screws - just can't seem to find the silly things. |

I love my P239 in 9mm. I carry it in a Milt Sparks Watch Six or a Black Hills Leather Verticle Scabbard, loaded with 124gr. +P Speer Gold Dots.

Just went out to shoot my CCW P239 .40 Yesterday (Sunday). 250 rounds WWB while doing instinctive shooting drills, Mo drills, single hand, both strong and weak, front sight shooting, holster draw and to try out the new hogue finger groove grips.
Not a hitch or malfunction of any kind! The grips really help a lot, too. Man I love that pistol!
