Normally, I would think this would be a no brainer question, and could answer it myself, but what are your opinions.  

I don't want to start a debate over weather the .32 is an appropriate round for defense.  In this case, let's just say it is and leave it at that.  

My Tomcat has found it's way into my pocket quite a bit sense I started carrying concealed. It was 90 degrees today! I want to know what round you would carry, if you had to carry the tomcat.  AND, if someone mentions carrying a knife instead, I'm gonna reach through your computer and stick you in the butt with it!!!!LOL

I felt at first that I should use something in a expanding hollow point(something like speer gold dot) for maximum shock.....hehehh, I know, we're talking about a .32auto.  But, then I thought that maybe in the .32's case, a FMJ would be better for penetration(what little there will be).  What do you think?  Am I just kidding myself with the FMJ penetration idea?

FMJ............my primary concern would be the ability to penetrate to the vitals.

I have my P32 loaded with Fiocchi SJHP. I hear they are supposed to be pretty hot.

The Seecamp will reliably feed Silvertips, because of limitations to OAL of the cartridge.  Apparently, you *can* use Gold Dots, Fiocchi and Glaser Safety Slugs in the newer guns, but tests of each gun's reliability with this ammo should be conducted.  


Although it's not a cartridge that has the heaviest or fastest bullet, it seems to have been a pretty popular combination for a number of years as a backup gun.

In one test, average bullet penetration was between 12- and 16-inches in denim covered gelatin.  Not bad...

The tomcat will only be used in "shorts and tee" shirt weather.  In the winter, I have several other options that I would choose over the tomcat.  It is just a, "gosh I cant hide anything else kind of gun".
