The sight is supposed to be parallax free, so if you can see the sights through the window, you should be able to set the dot on top of the sights and have co-witness.

Unless you are infinitely better at machining, specifically milling, than English I would suggest sending your slide out to get any work done. Otherwise I promise you will end up destroying a perfectly good slide, or blowing your hands up trying to make it work.

You'd be better off getting someone with experience to do the milling (or buying a second pre-cut slide) and getting "gunsmith" sights that need to be filed down and then sending the filed sights to Tooltech for tritium inserts than trying to mill lower than is safe (or more accurately than practical) to try to get a perfect co-witness. Basic gunsmithing rule: file/cut the cheap part, not the expensive part.
