I want to add a few pistols to my collection and the idea of a 1911 chambered in 9mm makes me wonder.

The 9mm cost factor (not stopping power) is what I am after.

And don't throw the Hi-Power into this. I want a 1911.

Well, they're out there. I've got a Combat Commander that my Dad gave me several years back.

Every now and again I'll see one at gun shows. My friend just bought one from a seller on Auction Arms, and is also having one converted to 9x23.

Mine is a good shooter, 9 in the mag and the steel frame helps tame recoil.

I have a Star 9mm from SOG, and I like it, especially for the price.

Personally I think the BHP is an improvement over the 1911, but I know most will disagree.

A series 70 Colt 1911 in 9mm is the first handgun I ever owned. DAMN, it was a nice gun. I'm an idiot for ever getting rid of it.

I had a series 70 government in 9mm. Ex wife has it

. Great shooting weapon. I recently found one in a pawn shot in LNIB condition but they were wanting $800 for it
