Some people say $700 is too much for the Five-seveN. I say that is a good price if it is the third generation USG model with three 20 round mags. I paid $830 for mine and that is a lot less than what I paid for my Kimber Ultra CDP .45 which I was carrying for CCW until I got the Five-seveN. True ammo is a little high ($18.50 for fifty rounds in my area) but I am saving my brass and I know that RCBS makes dies for the 5.7 round. I am still trying to find loading data but I am sure as this gun becomes more popular it will be available along with competitive pricing on commercial ammo. Just my .02 MadDog

I work on saturdays for a local dealer and that is why i am getting it for 700.00 He said i could have it for cost plus shipping. |

Since you work part time for the industry you may be able to get loading data on the 5.7 round. Many of us would be interested in reloading. I have a good amount of brass from purchased SS192 rounds and I know that they use small rifle primers but that is all. I haven't been able to find out what diameter bullet to use, brand of powder to use, or the powder charge to use. Anything you could find out would be most helpful. If you are going to use yours for CCW, Blade-Tech makes a great holster for $59.00 for both OWB, IWB and paddle styles. They do not make mag pouches for the 5.7 (crazy isn't it?) but I have found that leather mag pouches made for Desert Eagles 44 magnums work perfectly. Let me know what you come up with, MadDog

I will see if I can find out anything about reloading data for the 5.7 round. A place called Wideners Reloading is located about a mile from where my dealer is located. I know they sell al kinds of reloading supplies and have a website so I will stop in there also to see if I can find anything. |

In every thread I've seen about the FiveSeven, someone will complain that the ammo is too expensive.
Compared to what? White box .44 mag ammo at Walmart is 20 bucks (50 rounds). Sheesh!! |

When I take my 44 mag to the range for a practice session I use 44 special reloads. When I take any of my .357's to the range for simple target practice, I use 38 special reloads. When I take any of my 45 ACP's I use Wolf ammo. I would like to do the same with my Five-seveN. I do use full house loads once in a while so I don't forget what it feels like, and I carry full house loads for CCW, but I can shoot alot more for alot less if I reload. Just my .02 MadDog

I stopped Wideners reloading today after work and they could not find any info for reloading the 5.7x28 round. If I hear of any i will let you know. |

I reload myself, and also am awaiting load data for the 5.7. My point is that most shooters *don't* reload, and those that don't will think little of dropping 20 bucks for 50 .44 mags, but 18 dollars for 50 5.7s is somehow "too expensive". Merely an observation! |

FWIW, they have one locally for $839, so I'd say $700 is a heck of a deal.
