I have the opportunity to purchae a Gen 2 Glock 19 w 2 mags.  Gun is in pretty good condition with just minor holster wear. This was a civilian purchase and not a leo trade in weapon. $400 is the price. I dont really need this gun, but I know Gen 2 Glock 19's are in pretty high demand. Im on the fence, any input?

I would get it if you need one.

I carry my old Gen 2 19 and I trust it.  Been carrying that thing for along time now and I see no need to replace it.

Figure 350 to 400 is the going rate.  G19's don't turn up on the used market very often.  Certainly a deal worth considering.

I'd buy that.

I would buy it. I have carried a GEN 2 19 for 10 years. It's my fravorite glock.

Dumbest thing I did was sell my like-new Gen 2 G19 several years ago. Buy it!

These days, it is.  You never see them come up for sale.  If you do see one come up, it never lasts long enough for you to think it over.

I would buy another at that price. I have a Gen 3 and a Gen 2 G19
The Gen 3 is stippled with Triji HD sights and has a TLR1 on it all the time for nightstand duty
The Gen 2 is what I carry most days.

IMO, the next Gen Glock should be a Gen 2 frame with Gen 4 texturing and add a light rail. No finger grooves.

Gen 2's are awesome.

I would get it, but then I'm pretty much convinced that the Gen 2 G19 is probably the perfect gun of all trades.  Why in the hell did glock have to muck them up with those stupid finger grooves?

Now I just need to run across one for $400 that doesn't look like its been thrown down a 100 mile driveway.

I need to pick up another one, they have come in fairly frequently in the last 6 months or so at my favorite LGS. I didnt know they were hard to find in other locales. Average price is around 400 or so for good condition. Last one was 359. though, with factory case and 2 mags. Gen 2 G17s go for the same prices. We hardly ever see any Colts or S&W revolvers around here used, prices for those are higher than hell, but Glocks are comparatively cheap right now.

I picked one up for 349 that looked like it had been vacuum-sealed since the day it rolled out of the factory.

Bought one not too long ago for $350.  But some asshat rounded off the trigger guard.  I may pick up another one if the price is right.

AIM surplus has them for $369.

Factor in shipping and transfer fee- than probably comes in around $415-ish.

At this point I'd rather have a used gen 2 than a new 3rd or 4th. I hate dealing with problem guns...

If you dont really need it, I would offer less tha $400. Maybe more like $325-$350.

I would also consider sending it to Glock for some potential upgrades.

If you do get it check the slide lock spring.  The early ones (Gen2's) were necked down and prone to breakage.

I would rather have that as a new Gen 3 or Gen 4.

I would buy it if funds were available.
