I have a Colt Mustang that I obtained used-a fellow owed me some money so I took the pistol instead, I didn't go out of my way to buy it. The previous owner had apparently disassembled it and reassembled it improperly. The gun had been sitting in a drawer for a year, but I just got done running it over to a gunsmith (you should see the custom garands this guy makes).
The gun is a great size for concealment, much smaller than my Chief's Special or Glock 36, and I like the feel of it, but I am put off by two things:
1. .380 seems like a crumby round, low on power and unlikely to expand.
2. This is a single action pistol, so it needs to be carried cocked and locked (in my opinion) which makes is a tough gun to pocket carry despite it's small size.
I would guess that if I sold it since it looks like it has been fired very few times I'd get $ 300-$ 400. I could put that money toward another small double action pistol like a Kahr, but I cold afford to just go buy a Kahr anyway. I assume that it is mechanically safe and reliable and should work fine when I get it back from the gunsmith.
Sell it or keep it?
