Great video! Good presentation, fast pacing(MUCH needed in youtube firearms videos), exactly as informative as it needed to be. I'm familiar with all three pistols and have major youtube ADD and still watched every minute of it, even on a Friday night

Very nice.

I have a post war P1 that I have found to be a lot of fun to shoot. Also it is quite accurate and as you noted, very reliable.

It's good to see classic arms given their due in a modern format like yours.

Please carry on with more WW2, or even older, weapons.

I was able to fire both an original WW1 Luger P-08 and an original Nazi stamped Walther P38; I was very please with how both weapons shot; very accurate (specially the Luger) and easy to operate; now i crave to get my hands on both of them.

I was thinking P38 before I clicked. Nobody believes that their M9 is that old of a design until I show them my P1.

Cool? yes. Ahead of its time? not really. BHPs were ahead of their time. Double stack mags, tilting barrel action, very similar to modern handguns today.

That's because the P35 really was an evolved 1911. The same dropping breech design used in the P35 was originally used in the 1911, with the innovation being the removal of the drop link itself in the P35 design. I would credit the 1911 with the design of the system of lock-up. But yes, the double stack 13 round magazine was the major contribution to modern handgun design that the P35 brought to the party.

I wouldn't exactly hand my hat on the 'newest' design being the best. The only manufacturers (AFAIK) that used the Walther falling block system were Walther, HK, and Beretta. The Browning stepped cam system has been used by Browning, Colt, Glock, Sig, HK, S&W, CZ, many former Soviet republics, the Chicoms, and the beat goes on.

That was a great video. Very well done.

I have a P38, and I fired it a few times before locking it in the safe. However, I never noticed the loaded chamber indicator. Cool!

WHAT?! First of all it's the designer who gets the credit, not the design itself. Secondly the Colt 1911 was just an improved Colt 1910, which was an improved Colt 1907, which was an improved Colt 1905, which was an improved Colt 1902, which was an improved Colt 1900. The 1911 was just one of many increments of Browning's tilting barrel pistol design, set apart only by its adoption by the US military.
