I read some of the other posts , but it didnt answer any of my questions.

#1 price , I want something under 450$

#2 size and weight im a bowhunter and hiker so I need something fairly light and small but at least 9mm or .40 Cal (preferably a 9).

#3 I would want something both accurate and tough.

A few guns I've thought about or seen posts on are...

Glock
XD
CZ
Kel-tec (They dont look to good quality wise though)
Beretta( shot one before, seemed pretty good but wasnt compact)
Taurus (read on this forum they was pretty good but what about compact/subcompact)

Out of these weapons which would in your opinion be better. I might be in Cold temp. and maybe it might get a little dirty while out in the field. Im guess most of the above are quite expensive though.

How about a 3" model 65 or 66 Smith ?

You should be able to find a nice used one for under $350.

It's not a 9mm or .40 but can out perform both for just about any use and .357 Mag makes a lot more sense as a woods gun with heavier bullets.

The K-frames are light enough to pack easily and not so light you won't want to shoot it.

Guaranteed to be far more accurate then any auto in this price range.

Whats tougher or more reliable than a stainless steel revolver ?

How about a Steyr M9. Under $300 from CDNN and very comprable to Glock.
