Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - .45 ACP in a .45 Super 1911?

Can you use .45ACP ammo in a 1911-style pistol chambered for .45 Super so long as you change the recoil spring?  The barrel is marked .45 Auto and it uses .45ACP mags.

You don't even need to change the recoil spring, I hear most work fine with ACP.
