My friend has two handguns and he wants a third. The two handguns he has are Sig p228 and Glock 22. He loves the glock more than the Sig due to many reasons that I agree with him on. Some are finish, low bore axis, capacity, and simple to take apart and clean.
Please pick one of the following or make your own suggestion.
Notice, all are full size type handguns and would most likely be used for target type practice.
Thanx

Kimber

Any of the 4" or 5" models will do nicely.
I however prefer the base models.

1911,  Kimber if your pockets are deeper than mine, also check out dan wesson, and charles daly.
I just got a charles daly feild grade full size and I am extreemly happy with it, and I have another $400 dollars to go buy mags, ammo, and a holster.

Go for the HK.  You get double stack 45, plus cocked-and-locked.  Also, a Sig 228 is super-easy to strip.  Just run the slide back to the slide lock, and throw the take-down lever.  You can just run the slide forward and it comes right off.  No pulling the trigger or holding the slide back while pulling down two little tabs like on a Glock.  Much easier to strip a Sig in my book.

Get a CZ,  preferably  a 75 or P-01

Here is an interesting article on the P-01:
In 2001 the Czech National Police asked a number of gun makers to come up with a new duty gun to meet their stringent requirements. So stringent were the requirements that many gun makers decided not to participate in the design competition.

The gun had to withstand 4,000 dry-firings, 3,000 de-cocks, 1,350 user-level disassemblies and re-assemblies, 150 complete disassemblies down to the springs, screws and pins, 54 drops of 1.5 meters on concrete, a 3 meter drop, and a 24-hour freezing test.

With the easy stuff over, the gun had to be stripped of all lubrication, submerged in sand and mud and still fire reliably. On top of all that, the National Police required a 15,000 round 9mm +P service life. Further testing revealed that the P-01 could easily survive more than 30,000 rounds of 9mm ball ammunition.

In way of comparison, the U.S. Army had a requirement for 115 grain, 9mm ammo of 495 mean rounds between failure (MRBF). The Czech National Police requirement was 500 MRBE During the P-01's testing, the average number of stoppages was only seven per 15,000 rounds fired. The MRBF was an astounding 2,142, which exceeds the requirement by nearly five times.

1911 Government model
1st choice: SW1911 (best quality, customer service, and price)
2nd choice: Colt NRM 1991 (classic looks and it's a Colt)
3rd choice: Kimber Stainless Custom II (good quality, good value, suck customer service though)

I have no opinion on Springfield, Dan Wesson, or any other brand of 1911 as the top three are the ones I own,

Since no one else has mentioned it, I'll say HK. I love mine, reliable as heck and more accurate than me.

ETA: Whoops, some else DID mention it. So I second that guy....
