Quoted: Hang in there collegeboy, you can find people of like mind at college. I just graduated from college and most of the guys I'm good friends with I met through discussions of shooting and fire arms, or paintball. Find some 2nd amendment friends and inform the future liberal democrats that guns are good for the law abiding american public!

Plus one on that. I'm in grad school now, and there's a few people in my program who like guns. I was introduced to AR15's by a guy in my class...
They are out there, but most are "closet" shooters, and unfortunately many get pretty hushed about it when non-shooters are around (the girls in particular? TJMZ have any insight?). I've been surprised by some of the people who have "come out" to me. A couple were the last ones I'd expect. I'm not shy about the fact that I like to shoot anymore.

LOL. Yeah, I keep pretty hushed, most of the time, about my gun fetish, but then, I live in SoCal. I am very cautious about whom I tell, and I have to say that I have met only one or two people at school who were into guns; and they were marines who shipped out last year. Women/girls are a big problem. Most of them cannot, even if their lives depended on it, keep their mouths shut about anything! I had a (ex) friend whom I had brought to the range a few years back, and had explained to her that I didn't like people talking about my business. A month later she brought two guy friends over to my house, whom I didn't know, and the minute they walked in the door they wanted to see my pistols and my illegal rifle. I told them I owned nothing illegal and asked why they thought I did. They told me that my "friend" had told all of their friends that I owned a machine gun! I have a mini-14, and she thought it looked sufficiently dangerous that it must be illegal and so on.
I do make a concerted effort to bring girls in particular to the range; but I feel them out for a while before I do. Every woman that i have brought to the range has at least changed their opinion from being anti to at least neutral, and one of my friends actually goes with me from time to time.
However, I have run into an interesting problem, maybe it's unique to Cali? I don't know. I have never met a woman who likes to shoot, and the guys I meet are very hostile to the idea of a woman shooting. Either they believe that women have no place holding a gun, much less firing it, or they get royally pissed when I shoot better than they do.
