Are the USGI Mags by Checkmate good or are they trouble? What about Mec-Gar brand mags?

Please advise and Thanks!

They work okay for range mags.  These are the mags the military was/is having trouble with in the desert.  A little dirt/sand and they jam.  This is because they're parkerized inside the tube and use a platic follower unlike a genuine Beretta mag which is polished inside and they're follower doesn't catch on the finish.

A local shop has factory MecGar made Beretta mags, used, in great condition for $14.95.

Go with MecGar mags...good quality control and consistency in their products. Beware that most USGI used mags will require a new mag spring. The mags for the SPs & MPs stay loaded constantly in the armory.  Just a hint...hope this helps

If none of our industry partners have them try an involved search on Google.com

I found some new 15 round factory mags for about $40 each a few years ago. They were perfect and new and definately Beretta!

If you do get some used mags go with new Wolff springs. . . the best in my opinion!
