Hi... I have an XD9 Tactical... and its a bit big for the wifey to carry, so I am considering taking a bone stock sub compact and putting all the bells, whisles and gizmos on it to make it the ultimate Mrs. Bear CCW gun.

I have a G19 right now that the wife originally wanted,  and its good and all but I recently took her to a funshop where she fondled the XD SC like it was a new kitten...

So here is what I am planning on doing...

XD9 SC.

Find the perfect ladies holster, and extra mag pouch. (looking for suggestions here)

Probably going with Meprolight night sights (also looking for suggestions)

Getting the Pearce Grip Extension.

Considering the Dons guide rod and spring packate too if the wife chooses the 4 inch version (but I think she is pretty much stuck on the 3 inch and they dont make it for the 3 inch)...(anyone got a range report on these?).

Either going stainless slide or considering getting a hard chrome job (looking for suggestions as to where go the chrome job done)

Obviously this will be an "on going" project, but have I missed anything thus far?

She will be better served with the 4" at a minimum.

Well for me ( just my opinion, you can do what you want) I would forgo the night sites and instead buy a sure fire flashlight and some ammo for practice. As far as holster's ,I'm pretty much a holster that looks like a purse type of guy for women. I apologize but can't seem to remember what the company is called. I think there are several company's that make these now though. Same with the spare mag. Put it in the purse with a cell phone , if you guys don't already have one. Hope this helps. take care. Coondog
