Just curious as to what some of you guys think of the witness pistols. Was considering getting one in 45 with the 38super conversion unit.Who out there offers action work on these kinds of guns. Any help would be great.

I like 'em. Well made CZ clones that you can usually find for very cheap.

The consensus on rec.guns seems to be that they eat up slide stops in calibers other than 9x19. Does anyone have evidence to back this up? If this isn't true, then I'd be very interested in a Witness fullsize 10mm.

I have a Witness 45. I'm very happy with it. It runs great, is accurate, good trigger, shoots lead bullets without leading up the barrel, and 10 shot mags. I like it better than my Springfield 1911A1.
I've fed it close to a case of Wolf 45 ammo, lead reloads, and fmj reloads with no problems at all.

Buddy of mine has one in 9mm, very accurate, reliable, and inexpensive gun. I recently bought a full size witness 10mm. That gun is so beefy I can't see slides getting banged up. i haven't had mine very long but I'll let you know any problems.

Now the 10mm cartridge did chew up those Colts, back in the day.

I've got the compact 10mm. It is a solid pistol and I haven't had any problems from it.

I have 9mm competition guns which is in 9X21, I have had slide stop break, and slide crack in half below the ejection port, both were replaced under warranty,

My 40 cal broke the magazine catch within 100 rnds. I replaced.

I like them they way they shoot, but am a bit leery of these breakages.

I had a stainless compact .40 for a few years. It was a pretty good gun. It did not like BLazer ammo though.

Carried it cocked and locked at the tender age of 17. Life was good.....
