I know the old ammo had a green laquer that could become sticky if the gun were hot... but what about the new polymere coated ammo?  Any good?  Would be buying in the 9mm caliber.

I got some in 40 and it worked fine, so did the laquer ammo in 45 and both types in 223.

I've used gobs of it in 9mm and 45, never had a problem except 1 squib. Luckily, that 1 was weak enough that it didn't cycle the action. Used a cleaning rod to push the bullet back out of the barrel.

Just be sure and get a good price on it....if you can't get it for less than $10/100, buy WWB.

Wolf is all I'm shooting right now in .223 and 7.62 COMMIE.

The stuff I bought recently didn't have the laquer coating, so I don't see how it could cause any problems at all (barring a bad round, which everyone has from time to time).

I can't see myself buying any other kind of ammo right now for my AR's.  It's cheap.  It's dependable.  It works!

The only reason I would consider buying Lake City or some other different ammo was if someone let me shoot their M16 and had an ammo preference.  Their gun, their rules!

ETA: In the past I've gone thru about 1K rounds of the laquer coated stuff without any malf's of any kind.  Maybe I was lucky, maybe not.

I used the Polymer coated stuff in my AR yesterday, worked great, not as accurate as WWB by about 1 moa variance, but for the price, a good deal.

note: It would be a cold day in hell before I used any of the laquer coated stuff in my ARs or Handguns.

If I didn't reload .45 I would shoot wolf in my kimber.  I feed wolf .223 through my ar though so i do use it.

If Wolf works fine in your weapon and the accuracy if good enough to suit you there is no need to avoid it.

It will not hurt your gun.

i've shot 250rds of it through my 1911 with no problems.  i also shoot it in my AR, AK, and SKS.
it's worth the savings to me.

Well ... with that being said is the deal that ammoman.com has for 1000/$109 a decent deal?  I know this is not much cheaper than WWB but my local wally world is hit or miss as far as having it in stock goes.

Shot up about 300 rounds of the .45 out of a USP so far. Accurate, consistent, and reliable so far. Seems to be loaded just as hot as everything else...something Wolf .223 cant attest to.

For the price (128/1000 to my door) Ill keep shooting it. The nearest to that is 180/1000 for the WWB/Federal/Etc brandnames.

If that's a shipped price, it's good. Otherwise, get WWB.

I have shot over 10k rounds of Wolf through my 1911 45's. I doubt that it is all that accurate. I can tell about 15% have a lower velosity while shooting. But who cares its cheap and the more you shoot even with Cappy ammo. The better you get. I had rather shoot 2 cases of Cappy wolf than one case of something good. Just my $0.02.......

Hey!

I've pumped a lot of Wolf thru my 1911's. Is it accurate? Yes it is (in my guns anyway).

Target was shot at 25 yards using Wolf 230 gr. FMJ .45ACP out of a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 loaded. Two hand hold standing.

Bought 2 Boxes of Wolf and had 1 overloaded round, the case actually split in the chamber and had to be popped out with a cleaning rod.  The rangemaster said that if I was cheap and didn't buy a USP that I would not have any fingers.  My outlook on things buy HK and dont buy Wolf it's QC is garbage!!!!

I run it in my AK.  I run commie ammo in commie guns.

I dont allow it in the same room as my 71 year old 1911 though.
