Hey guys, I'm am thinking about getting a pocket gun for summer carry and these are what I am considering.  I want it to be light, but very reliable.  I am used to Glocks, so that is my expectations for reliability.  Before you say anything, I have considered the G26 and M&P9c, but have ruled them out due to their slightly larger size and slightly more weight.  I just want to know the reliability among these guns and if I should pursue this thought of summer pocket carry any further or abandon it.  Thanks for your help.

I would take a look at one of these in 9mm.   They carry well in all seasons.

I guess I agree with the PPS post, but I see your dilemma.  I used to own a PPK and a Ruger LCP for pocket carry.  Neither were reliable for me so now I carry a Smith 642 (finally something I KNOW will go bang).  However, when I'm just wearing jeans and not work slacks, the PPS is always my go-to carry piece.

This.

Why carry a wimpy 380 when you can have a modern 9mm that is lightyears ahead of the 380 in terminal ballistics.

Small 9mm.   Look at the PM9 imho.

I voted P238, but I really love my P232.

The 232 is a bit smaller, but if you're ok with a bit more bulk then go with the 9mm

Reliability wise I would probably say the Sig 232. But its also heavier and larger than the bodyguard and P238.

The Sig 238 & Bodyguard are newer weapons. There long term overall dependability is yet to be determined but so far good reviews on these far exceed complaints.

Just keep in mind anytime you go to these smaller platforms, you will always have a few more complaints when compared to their full size counterparts.

On a budget: I will throw in the LCR cheaper than the bodyguard and lighter than the ppk.

If you have some money to blow.... Look at the Rohrbaugh R9... 9mm Pocket Pistol... Those that have em really like them... specially if you like pocket carry.

So far i'm really liking my S&W .380 Bodyguard, much nicer to shoot than my LCP and on par with my P238.

I have a p232 and really like it, its reliable and accurate. I have considered the sw bodyguard for its size, bypassing the LCP and p3at altogether since I have a p32 already.  As much as I like my p232 I don't carry it much in the summer because its just a tad bit too big for concealing on me @ 160lbs.
