I am looking to improve the accuracy of my Taurus PT99, so I thought I would start by buying a better barrel. Here is a link to some barrels for sale. www.shootersroost.com/portedbarls.htm They claim to be the best in the world, although, I some how doubt that. If anyone has had any experience with these, please tell me about it. Chris

If you want to improve you accuracy you could always go trade you Taurus in for a Beretta.

This gun has some sentimenal value to me, otherwise I'd just trade it in on a Sig 226.

Barrel "fit" is just as important, if not more, than actual barrel quality as long as the barrel is not junk. An "OK" barrel in perfect fit and lockup will outshoot an outstanding barrel fitted poorly to the pistol.

That being said, I have never heard a bad word on Barsto barrel quality.

Not to toss you a blooper, Chris, but you may find the original barrel more than adequate, accuracy wise. Sometimes the hellacious trigger pull may be the offender.
My reasoning is from past Taurus' experience, but you know your gun.
It would be somewhat wasteful IMO to install a $200+ barrel in a firearm with an 8+ pound let off. Just throwing an idea out there to consider before the CC gets a workout.

Id look at the trigger too, unless you have a damaged barrel. FWIW, the guys at Cylinder and Slide say that Bar-sto is the shit.

Edit: I completly missed Xero's post, but I agree with him.

See if Ernest Langdon will do a Bar-Sto or BerettaUSA barrel in Taurus. He's not CAG

He is a combat vet USMC and won many titles shooting SSP and CDP division in IDPA. www.langdontactical.com Actually he even has a CAGE number for military ordering.
