Finally got brave..

Actually I was more bored then brave but..I stripped the trigger and bolt assembly on my Hi-power today to give it a good cleaning. I found grease in the firing pin hole and a big gob of it in the extractor hole. Wonder how long that's been there. It's a WWII vintage Inglis.
It was very easy to strip and assemble unlike my Colt Woodsman or Taurus.
Now to go get it dirty again!

Good show! 60 year old grease would never cause any problems.

That may even be some cosmoline that was never really cleaned out all the way?

I finally wore out my FEG...well at least the extractor spring anyway.
Starting to get FTEs more often from a gun that never failed in the past several years, it was due and I'm not complaining.

Gene..I think thats what it was. It was yellow and very thin as far as grease goes.

Don't hold your breath. I still have 3 more handguns and a few rifles to do yet! I use CLP and it keeps working at the carbon. So I dig them out and give them a going over as much as I can.
