great. Is the browning hi power a fixed barreled or a loose barreled pistol.

It is not a fixed barrel. It is a similar system to the 1911, hence the name "Browning system..". It does not use a separate bushing like the 1911 however.

Its the same gun.
Browning buys the FN and stamps Browning on them. |

They are all made by FN, and allways have been...FN OWNS browning and they have browning to cater to the sportman side of the biz, while the FN Herstal badge focus on Military and Police sales....till recently with the release of several new guns to the U.S. public
its the same story with the Browning PRO9 and FN FNP9..they are the same pistol badged to different markets |
