Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Buckmark updated slide

I need a replacement buffer spring and guide for my buckmark, Browning no longer produces the spring and offered to either sell me a new style assembly which I could disassemble for the spring or for half price they would sell me a new style slide and buffer assembly.  Is there any advantage to switching to the new slide style?

My 1980`s Buckmark was having a lot of misfires and light strikes on the case rim.
They sold me a new style slide and all parts for around $75.  
Firing pin and recoil spring assembly were updated on the new style.
Runs great again.
