picked one up yesterday and have to say so far i am well pleased with it.
first impressions....
overall seems to be fairly well built for what it is. mags insert and drop free easily and feed freely.
rail on top is plastic and physically part of the reciver. we will see how well it holds up with optics attached.
Trigger is crisp and breaks repeatedly at the same spot each time. Much better than expected
will need a fluff and buff on the frame i have found a few sharp edges that need to be removed.
barrell is threaded and i have installed an m16 flash hider i had lying around. threads do not index properly for them so a shim was used.
balences surprisingly well with 20rn mags. heavy but i have fired heavier pistols.
10rnd mag that is included is plastic and appears to be crap <like it will ever be used>
sights are standard v notch pistol sights on the rear and an ar15 style on front. rear sight is repositional on the top rail.
VERY!!!!! easy to strip and clean. appears that little lubrication is actually needed.
safety and mag release are both easily accesible and usable with trigger finger on right hand.
At the range....
I began using my handloads for my ar15's. they are 55gr milsurp pull down loads. the first 10 rounds ran flawless and i used them to zero my aimpoint on an 8" steel plate at the 100yard berm.
the second magazine <usgi 30rnd> began to have problems with 8 rounds not chmabering properly. i inormally only neck size my reloads and a quick inspection revealed this was the problem as this pistol appears to have a bit tighter chamber than my ar15's. Switching to factory ammo solved the problem. The next 250 rounds rand fine with zero failures. radip fire was pretty neat with this gun. i was able to consistanly ring the plate with little effort.
recoil is practically non existant. Compared to another ar15 .223 pistol i have fired i would say it's about 1/2 the felt recoil.
Muzzell flash is impressive and i will say this gun is LOUD! i tried it with and without the a2 flash hider i put on and i noticed no percievable difference in noise but flash was reduced a good bit. <still a fair sized fireball.
Overall i am happy and impressed with it. The action feels smooth and solid and with quality ammo ran without failure. will be taking it out again monday and will put another 2-300 rounds through it and see how the reliability holds up without cleaning.
i was a little disappointed that it comes with v notch instead of a rear peep sight but after shooting it i have to say the v notch for me is probably a better option for off hand shooting.
i know several guys were interested in this gun hope this helps.
