Yes, it's about 1/2" longer.

It is amazingly enough longer by about 1 round of ammo.

I thought that it might be a "higher" capacity magazine that would fit flush into the P9. I now see the T9, which would fit the 8-rounder flush.
Oh well... |

I have both the 7rnd that fits flush and the 8 round extended. My girlfriend likes the 8 much better as the 7 bites into her hand, I guess on the flip up of the recoil.
I prefer the 7 but either are OK. |
