there are many great offerings out there that have proven themselves, but i always try them out for myself in my own guns to make sure they are reliable. the criteria that i use for testing defense ammo is 1) reliability 1-200rds must be 100% reliable or they are a no go. 2) shootability, during pairs, hammers, etc, basically make sure that they are controlable. 3) accuracy this is important but with the modern loads and the makers i have yet to find a defense load out there that i would disqualify for not being accurate enough. they don't have to be able to achieve match grade accuracy and win a competetion they just have to be good enough for me to win a fight for my life. i would try hornaday xtp's, golden sabers, winchester sxt, i have also had great luck with the winchester sxz which is an exclusive bass pro offering, gold dots, there are some good places to start right there,
