Will a 16rd mag from a XD9 Compact model fit & work in a Sub-Compact XD9? Are they the same mag, except for the spacer sleeve thingy? I ask cause I see 16rd mags for SC guns & compact guns & the service models.

Am I missing something here or what?

The full length will fit. Just not the other way around.

The grip lengths are different so the floor plate of a subcompact mag will hit the bottom of the grip before it seats.

Full length mags fit in all models, even the limited capacity 10 round mags for commie states.

Full length: fits all
Full Length limited capacity: fits all
Subcompacts
Compact 45

The "sleeve thingy" is cosmetic only and fills in the gap between the bottom of the frip and the floor plate.
