The TRP Pro comes with a hefty price, and I think it would be well worth it. I am not familiar with that finish.
For my handgun, it MUST NEVER malfunction. I love the SA Micro Comp. But I have been seriously looking at the TRP Pro, as a replacement for my SIG P-220. However, as I said, I want the most reliable .45 (1911) as is possible.
I would appreciate any feedback on this pistol.
Thanks, Mule

for that kind of $$$ for reliability and function..get a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special with the Bear Coat finish...probably the finest carry pistol made. Springfield's Armory Coat is gun coat...moly based and wears pretty well..but not as well as Bear Coat....and thus doesnt have the lifetime warranty of the Baer.

Springfield is milking the TRP Pro reliability rating and FBI testing for all it's worth, and they may have a point. I believe Les Baer supplied handguns as well and failed pretty early on. The TRP Pro may be the most reliable 1911 of all time.

There are threads about this on 1911forum.com.

Check it out.

The standard TRP is done in SA's Armory Kote. The Pro is done in Black-T.
