I've always had "tactical" pistols... figuring it was smarter to have something to shoot and "carry". I've had 9mm, .40, and even a 357sig but never a .45. I went to the gun store to buy a Glock 30... for CC, but then I started looking at the 1911s.
Gun Porn!
I talk myself into a Kimber Target II or a Springfield Mil-Spec, but then a funny thing happened. I picked up a Springfield Trophy Match, and my hand wouldn't let it go. The salesman told me I either had to make my hand let it go or pay for the sucker! Well, out came the checkbook!
Whatever buyer's remorse I may have had for spending twice what I planned melted away as soon as I shot it. I never knew I was so good! After going through about 90 rounds and giving my auto-popper one hell of a workout, I walked a milk jug out 50 paces figuring I had 10 rounds to finish it off (if I missed with all ten I'd pull out the Bushy 16" with Aimpoint M3 and finish it off).
No need for the AR! I hit it with the first shot! I'm in love... I'm in love! Now I just have to break it to my wife there's someone else in my life!
Now, I know next to nothing about 1911s. Where do I start? Book recommendations? Must have accessories? I have to treat my new love right!
Thanks
