Hello ,Im looking into buying a XD9 Ive been reading posts on this forum that with just a barrel swap you can go from a 9mm to a .40 to a .357sig! How is that possible?! Im no  gun expert but how is the breech face of a XD9 gonna grab the case of a .40 ? I can see it with a .40 to a .357 sig same case just necked down. Ive called 4 major gun stores in my area and all of them told me the same thing, that you cant go from a 9mm to a .40 or vice versa. Also if you do and can swap the barrel you will void the factory warranty! This is all just what ive been told . Please some one shed some light on this!

From what I am aware of the XD40 or XD.357 sig are the only two XD's that will allow you to do barrel swaps.  The XD9 cannot be converted to .40 or .357 sig.  

You cannot change your 9mm into a 40 or 357 sig... but you can the other way around... get a 40 and you can put the 9mm and the 357 barrels in them.

Yeah... I know.  I wish I new about that before I bought my 9mm too.  Oh well... just another excuse to buy a new gun!!!

So your saying that i can buy the .40 Xd and put a 9mm barrel into it and shoot 9 mm out of the .40 slide. How is the breech face and extractor from the .40 gonna link up with the 9 mm.
Im not trying to sound like a shit head but i just dont know. also what about voiding the warranty?

Yes it works... its just a "drop in and go" deal.  Buy the barrel and drop it in and go... simple as that.  Innovative design isnt it?

The barrel will round you around 150 and are EXTREMELY popular among the XD owners.

Well I'll have to order some barrels soon.

Get a 9mm to match my uzi.
