Should be picking up a SRH Alaskan 44 mag. in a day or so. This will be my backup while hunting N. Idaho / NW Montana, I plan on feeding it BB's +P+ load (while hunting) of a 340gr  @ 1470 fps (7" Bbl). From what I read I should lose about 15% - that puts it @ apprx. 1250 fps. What are your experiences w/ this load ?  I've shot my buddy's 454 Alaskan, how will it compare recoil wise ? Thanks !
