Unless your shooting very high grain a 44 isn't too bad. When i shoot mine one handed i usually use a pretty high grip. Its more comfortable for me and i seem to be able to control the recoil and stay on target alot easier.
Two handed i shoot it just like anything else, with one finger on the trigger and then wrap the opposite hand on the bottom. Try it like that but in the end w/e works best for you is the best way to shoot it. Don't worry, unless you grip it horrifically wrong, the recoil wont cause any problems(if you are worried though, just start with a very low grain, that way instead of focusing too much on how bad the recoils gonna be you can focus more on your posture).
I was worried about the recoil the first time i shot the 44 magnum. My arsehat dad snuck a 300(?) grain round in it as a joke. It scared the crap out of me when that 3rd round went off. They are a blast to shoot though.
